The rechargeable lithium-ion drill is a portable battery-powered DC electric tool. It is basically shaped like a pistol, making it easy to hold. By clamping various types of drill bits at the front, it can perform a variety of functions, including drilling holes and driving screws.
A three-jaw universal chuck is installed at the front of the lithium-ion drill. When installing the drill bit, first rotate the three jaws counterclockwise to loosen them, insert the drill bit, and then tighten the chuck clockwise. The brushless motor allows for one-handed tightening. After clamping, check to see if the workpiece is concentric.
Behind the drill chuck is a ring-shaped rotating cup mouth engraved with numbers and symbols, known as the torque adjustment ring. Twisting it will produce a ticking sound like that of a clockwork. By twisting it, different clutch torques can be set for the drill. This ensures that when driving screws, once the rotational torque reaches the set value, the clutch will automatically engage, preventing the screws from being damaged.
Regarding the gears on the adjustment ring, the larger the number, the greater the torque. The largest gear is marked with a drill bit symbol. When this gear is selected, the clutch does not work. Therefore, if you want to drill holes, you need to switch to this gear. For installing furniture and driving screws, gears 3 - 4 are sufficient. At the top of the lithium-ion drill, behind the torque adjustment ring, there is a triangular pointer indicating the current gear.
The trigger at the position of the lower grip is the switch of the lithium-ion drill. Press the switch to start the drill, and the motor will output different rotational speeds according to the depth of the press. The difference between this and the high-low speed toggle button is that the toggle button determines the overall operating speed of the machine, while the start switch mainly adjusts the speed during use.
